Makarska littoral has all characteristics of Mediterranean climate: hot and dry summers
and mild winters with many rainy days. There are more than 2700 sunny hours per year
suitable for tourism that is the main economy. During winter months, the north wind
called 'bura' brings low temperatures and sometimes can make material damages especially
on the north part of Makarska littoral through the mountain pass Dubci. The sea
temperature is higher than 20 ̊C, during the summer it is between 23 and 27 ̊C.
